2025.12.1.63Description
This is a letter from Lucy Wetmore Gray on the East Coast to her husband Samuel C Gray in Benicia dated 09/17/1852. The letter talks of enjoying her visit to Boston. She still talks as in the last letter of her uncle lecturing her about leaving her husband. She then mentions someone named Edward who had a religious argument with her uncle a few days earlier. She also had a dispute with Edward about the church but much more friendly. She said he would have more of an impact as a minister if he kept cool in an argument.
She talks of her visits to relatives in the area and of buying a shawl and some fabric.
