This is a letter from Samuel C Gray to Mr. Edward Crocker dated 05/05/1859. Mr. Gray is traveling and plans to send the letter by Henry Wetmore (1828 - 1889), Chauncey Wetmore's younger brother who lived in Fairfield at the time.
He talks about Henry transporting two horses and 10 sheep back to Solano County from New York. Mr. Gray doesn't think they will all arrive safely in California.
He says they expect to stay about three weeks in Baltimore and three weeks in Georgia. Suggests that mail be sent to Chauncey Wetmore (senior) in Middletown, MD. The last part of the letter concerns business matters and the rental of their house in Benicia.Collection
