2024.10.1.82Description
This is a letter from Edward Crocker in Benicia to Samuel C Gray dated 07/18/1859. Most of the letter concerns business. He mentions that Hatch & Co. have sold their business to Scott & Danforth and he is planning to move back East for a year. He also mentions that he sold one of the 9" stoves to J.B. Frisbee for $45. (note: this is John B. Frisbee who was the son-in-law of General Vallejo. He lived in Benicia for a time in the Captain Walsh house.) One interesting note was that Mr. Crocker says he got a "life size" statue of a woman that they can use to display clothes. (A mannequin?)Collection
