This is a letter from Samuel C Gray to his wife Lucy Wetmore Gray when she was visiting on the East Coast. The letter is written on Dec. 31st so Samuel describes the blessings they have had the prior year and how lfortunate they have been. The letter picks up the next day, New Year's Day, after he returns from Woodbridge's church. He seems very pleased with the sermon and says the church was well attended.
