This is a letter from Edward Crocker in Rochester, NY to Samuel C Gray in Benicia dated 05/30/1860. Mr. Crocker talks of his health and how his new outdoor life is improving his health. He then discusses the Wells case with the Central Bank. He is sympathetic to Mr. Wells as his brother gave in to a similar temptation once. He expresses surprise that Miss Atkins is traveling to the East Coast as her father passed away last year and she had always said she had no desire to go back east again.
He also comments on the large number of Benicians who are on the East Coast and hopes to see them while they are there, especially Mr. Houghton. He ends with talk of possible loans and other business matters. His laast request is for Mr. Gray to remind Mr. Alfred Styles to send the photographs he promised.Collection
