Description

This is a letter to Samuel Gray in Benicia from Edward Crocker in New Bedford. Mr. Crocker talks about seeing Mrs. Gray and the children while in Middletown. He enjoyed setting off firecrackers with the kids at 4th of July. Mrs. Gray and the kids are planning to return to Benicia and Mrs. Gray has some worries about the trip. He and his wife then went to Niagra for a few days and then to N.Y. City to see a large ship called the "Great eastern. He ends the letter talking about an outstanding loan to Dr. Peabody.
