Description

This is a letter to Samuel C Gray in Benicia from an administrator of the Powers Institute in Bernardston, Mass dated 12/1860. The institute was created by Samuel's uncle Edward Epps Powers (1793-1855) who lived in Columbus Georgia but died in Chicago, Ill. The administrator is asking Samuel for a photo of Mr. Powers and believes he has a very good likeness in a Daguerreotype of Mr. Powers.
