2024.10.1.120Description
This is a letter from Edward Crocker to Samuel Gray dated 07/09/1866. Most of the letter deals with someone named Elijah who was on the East Coast and returned to Benicia because of some problem he has and is waiting for an answer. His concern also includes Dr. Peabody and Mr. Hastings who expect an answer in the Fall.
At the end of the letter Mr. Crocker says he learned that Samuel has a new daughter and he hopes mother and daughter are doing well. (This is probably Lucy Gertrude Gray Hart - 05/26/1866 - 06/25/1937). He also comments on the marriage of Samuels nephew and his sister-in-law. Not sure who he is referring to.Collection
