This is a letter to Mary Joanna Gray Morton (1820 - 1909) from her brother Samuel C Gray after the death of his first wife Lucy Wetmore Gray (1820 - 07/02/1879). He talks about his grief and also his financial troubles in finding a job. He mentions Gertie (Gertrude - 1866 - 1937) and his other sisters Maria and Affa Gray Wells (1810 -1884). Near the end he describes Lucy's gravesite in the Benicia cemetery. He also mentions Gertrude's godmother Mrs. Lynch.Collection
