This is a letter to Samuel C Gray from his brother Edward P. Gray (1822 - 1902) dated12/19/1879. Edward is questioning if he should invest more money in Benicia investments since he says they have all failed so far. He further asks Samuel to give him an account of his funds currently.
He is asking about a property that Mr. Mizner has offered to buy a portion but Edward wants to know the status of the mortgage on the property and the status of selling the other parts of the holding. Edward is not very optimistic about the lectures he is giving as they draw a small crowd and there are so many others giving lectures. He does mention going to a lecture by Mr. Peabody which he enjoyed. The last part of the letter is basically relating family news.Collection
