2024.10.1.308Description
This is a letter dated 05/08/1880 from Mother Rebecca Hubbard Wetmore to Samuel C Gray in Benicia. The letter starts off by telling Samuel that Rebecca has received a payment from him. She then mentions the position that Theodore got such a good position in the Legislature (see article below). She also says she "hopes Arthur will not back out of his branch of business when he has both taste and skills". The 1880 census shows Arthur as being an "artist". We know that he becomes a professional photographer and that is what artist may be referring to in the census.)
Lastly, Rebecca says that she and Cornelia are both suffering from Malaria.
