This is a letter dated 06/23/1880 from Mother Rebecca Hubbard Wetmore to Samuel C Gray in Benicia. She again starts the letter with the receipt of Samuel's payment. She talks of each of Samuel's children and seems pleased with how they have developed. She says that Samuel had asked her about his re-marrying in order to give him help in training up his daughter. She says that would be fine but cautions that if he dies then the estate is usually given to the new wife for use during the remainder of her life and this sometimes causes problems.
