Description

This is a letter dated 03/16/1881 from Mr. Edward Powers Gray to Mr. Samuel C. Gray regarding mainly family matters. He also mentions the improvements in Benicia notwithstanding the problem with the Martinez ferry (see article below). Edward mentions a couple of family matters. He is glad that his daughter and Samuel are corresponding again. He says his wife's (Maria) sister has died on the 9th of March in Minneapolis. He talks of Edward (Samuel's son) and is glad that his wife was able to have a visit from her sister. (This comment probably is due to her family being from England and it may be she is having health problems as she dies just three years later.)
