2024.10.1.304Description
This is a letter dated 05/11/1881 from Mother Rebecca Hubbard Wetmore to Samuel C Gray in Benicia. She is writing to tell Samuel that she received the May check but was sick at the time and is sorry she didn't write to him about it.
She says she is glad that Lucy came back to them and wishes she could have poor "Chan" too. (Not certain but this could refer to Lucy Wetmore (1859 - 1918) the daughter of Henry Wetmore who lived in Fairfield, CA. "Chan" could be Chauncey Wetmore who Rebecca worries about in multiple letters.)
Lucy says that Theodore Gray is having trouble with his eyes but will continue to study. She's not sure what Arthur Gray is doing and says the Gertie is a fine scholar.
