2024.10.1.326Description
This is a letter dated 11/04/1881 from Mr. Edward Powers Gray to Mr. Samuel C. Gray regarding mainly financial matters. Edward talks of his strained finances and the prospect of opening a Divinity School. Samuel has evidently asked Edward for a recommendation of a Rector for St. Paul's church in Benicia. Edward can't think of someone who would like to relocate and says it is too bad California doesn't have its own Theological school. He does comment on the improvement in Benicia's business environment and the improvement in their streets.
Edward also makes mention of how the estate might be divided.
