This is a letter dated 12/01/1881 from Mother Rebecca Hubbard Wetmore to Samuel C Gray in Benicia. Rebecca says that it is her 86th birthday (12/01/1795 - 09/13/1885) and that she received the deed. Most of the letter is about family. She talks of Lewis Wells (1841 - 1913) and his son Phillip (1868 - 1929). There are details about the deed transaction at the end of the letter. I assume the deed is part of the estate of Lucy Wetmore Gray (1820 - 1879) but can't be sure.
