This is a letter dated 02/12/1891 from Mrs. Mary Gray Morton to her brother Mr. Samuel C. Gray regarding mainly family estate matters. The first part of the letter talks of the status of Emily Pittman's estate. Mary says Emily's son William thinks it will be settled soon, and Mary doesn't see a need for them to write letters as Samuel has done.
Mary tells Samuel of several old friends who have passed and also about Mrs. Dennie living in New York with her daughter and granddaughter. She mentions Cousin Frances and her eight children. She talks in terms of their inheritance from their uncle (Edward Epps Powers (1793 - 1855).
