This is a letter to Samuel C Gray from N. N. Curtis dated 03/19/1891 regarding property of Samuel's Uncle in Texas. The letter talks about possibly selling 400 acres of land in Kinney County Texas (Central Texas West of San Antonio.). Somehow the deal involves Dr. Peabody and originated from the estate of Samuel's uncle Edward Powers (1793 - 1855).
The land is described as patent # 354 vol. 33 patented 12/12/1881. The Texas online land registry database has a record for this patent under the name of Searle. I don't see a reference to the sale of these 400 acres.Collection
