This is a letter from Samuel C Gray to his daughter Gertrude Gray Morton (her birth name was Lucy Gertrude Gray but was known as Gertrude) dated 10/11/1891. Samuel Gray and his wife, Martha, are traveling and Samuel is letting his children know how they are doing and where they have been traveling.
In this letter he describes how pleased he was that Gertrude could meet he and Martha at the family gathering in Baltimore. After that, they went to Fall River to visit Mr. & Mrs. Hollingsworth. They next saw Newport on the way to Boston. In Boston they visited Trinity Church and heard the last sermon of Phillips Brooks before he took his new position.Collection
