Impressed in gold on the lid of the case: "Blutkörper zählapparat // nach Thoma
Wooden two-piece case (a,b) covered with diamond-patterned leather; inside fitted and lined with velvet; no hinges; contains (c) rubber tubing, (d,e) two glass pipettes - one broken, and (f) blood cell counter. The case is 7" x 4" x 3/4" and is marked C. Zeiss Jena in the lower left corner. (This is probably the Carl Zeiss Jena optical company. They may have made the original glass counting device for the kit. It has been replaced by one from "Spencer Buffalo USA.) It also has a name taped to the top, R.F. Brady M.D.Collection
