Scope and Content

This is a ledger showing: 1. Benicia bonds and warrants issued 1850 - on being redeemed for a fraction of their value. Some are redeemed for 22% of their current (1860) face plus interest value. There are several pages of redemption proposals of which most were redeemed and only a few rejected. The proposals are made from 1860 to 1872. 2. A list of Benicia warrants NOT paid for "want of funds". These are from around 1869 to 1873. The warrants are then shown as paid. 3. List of bonds/warrants sold for Solano County roads. They were dated 06/01/1878.
