This journal/ledger contains the beginnings of Benicia including: lists and descriptions of first 12 houses in Benicia, a translation of the deed to General Vallejo by Manual Micheltorena, Governor of Calif. (1844); deed to Semple and Larkin by Vallejo (1847); deeds of properties sold by Semple and Larkin from 1847 - 1849 Blue leather, black on part of spine: Imprinted "Records of Benicia / 1847 1849 / Solano County size 16" H x 11-1/2" W x 2-1/2"D good condition Attached is an index of the documents found in this ledger. It is an Excel file. If you want to find a particular property, you can use the digital copy of the1847 Barlow Map also attached, to locate the property and see its block/lot number. (NOTE: not all property transfers are in this ledger. If you don't find the transaction you are looking for it may be in other ledgers in the Museum's possession.)
