Scope and Content

Ledger belonged to C.J. Flatt of the Collegiate Institute of Benicia (a predecessor of St. Augustine's College) Flatt started the school around 1858 and it was the first law school in California. The ledger covers years from 1865-1867 and includes morning and evening roll listings. Many early Benicia families are represented: McKenna, McCall, Sanborn, Woodbridge, Barry, Dalton, Mizner, Vallejo among others size: 9" x 13-1/2" various hues of brown with some gold striping
