Scope and Content

Carbon copy of a typed letter to Mrs. Dorothy Pasco of Buena Park, California from Sheldon Rankin, dated February 9, 1956. It is in regards to the loan of a school bell for an exhibit. The copy was sent to his mother with some attachments. 8-1/2" x 11" Attached to the letter is a short note on 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" paper with the heading "From the desk of SHELDON RANKIN" - Dear Mother: Enc. is a copy of the letter I sent Mrs. Pasco, also a card recd today. The bell is on its way. Will B over just as soon as I have a "night at home -- " love fat son. Also attached to the letter/correspondence is a post card with a black and white picture of a teacher in an old school setting: The message on the back reads: Dear Mr. Rankin, Rec'd your welcome letter. Sorry to hear of your Mother's accident. Would love to have her Add. so I can drop her a card now & then. Sincerely Dorothy M. Pascoe Knotts Berry Farm. The card is addressed to Mr. Sheldon Rankin, 1920 Magnolia Way, Walnut Creek, Calif. It is postmarked "Westminster, February 29, 1956, 5 PM" with a two-cent cancelled stamp. Across the top is written: "Dorothy Pasco - Ghost Town School Teacher." [Perhaps the woman on the front of the card?]
