Scope and Content

This is a letter dated 05/29/1877 and is from Glenheen ( I assume this is in Ireland.) It seems to be from Bella McJesse but the writting is very small. It is addressed in one part to "My Dera Sister" and in another to "My Dear Aunt". The handwritting is different so it may be from two people but sent to the same person (One writter's sister who is the other person's aunt.) The letter to a sister talks of the writter's health and the fact that there have been a lot of accidents because of the unusually wet winter. Several people lost their lives in the River Lann(?). It also mentions a melancholy incident when a boiler exploded in the Agency Life yard on the 18th. He then talks of Thomas Mabin and family. His sister is Mary died last Winter and Mary Jane Loyd has been dying for some time. He adds that he just heard that she is dead. Next he talks of Mrs. Gold going to America to take care of her son's children as his wife has died. Also mentioned are Mrs. Gold's sister Nancy, someone named Mary, Mrs. Mayberry, and Dr. Ferrier. The second person writting in the letter sounds like the daughter of the first writter. Her writting is hard to read but it sounds like she has a 2 month old girl. Not sure of the rest of the letter.
