This is a letter sent to Mr W.H. Sharp while at the California Military Academy in Oakland in 1884. The letter is from his cousin Emma Sharp.
Some things she writes:
- she has a new room and can walk across the hall at night without getting caught.
- she likes David Copperfield
- the little church on campus was decorated for Easter and they had a choir
- They have had terrible weather and the paper says it will continue. "The world is coming to an end" get ready.
-Her favorite teacher is Miss Anderson who called he out for her behavior in class and wanted her to apologise. Emma refused.
-Emma's sister Sophie was not well this week and the doctors hope she will improve.
The return address is P. Pioda at YLS in Benicia. The letterhead also shows Prof. P. Pioda Principal.
Besides the letter, there is a small piece of cut out letter with writing on it. Can't make out why it is included.Collection
