This is a letter from Captain Julian McAllister to Captain Franklin D. Callender, commander of Benicia Arsenal, dated 06/16/1858. McAllister is telling Callender that he has information from the Secretary of War (Jefferson Davis) to be given to the California Lands Commission. He then complains about not having recovered from the ship and says they can meet Thursday.
