This is a facsimile of a historic letter having to do with the discovery of gold in California. It was a series put out by the Book Club of California in December of 1948. We have seven of at least a series of 12.

This one says Part 3 and is a letter from Capt. John A. Sutter to William A. Leidesdorff. It was written 03/25/1848. It discusses sending the launch "Dice mi Nana" to his farm "Hock" with 180 fanegas (1 fanegas equals 1.58 bushels) of wheat. It also mentions forming a company to work the gold mines and wants Leidesorff to take a share.Collection
