Copy on onion skin paper of a request from Ellen Lewis, Office Sec. for a history of the Benicia Chamber of Commerce. Dated Jan. 24, 1958. The request was sent to The California State Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco. Letter reads: January 24, 1958 California State Chamber of Commerce 350 Bush Street San Francisco 4, California Gentlemen, I am desiruous of obtaining a history of the Benicia Chamber of Commerce including date formed locally, charter members, purpose of the organization, when the organization was formed and where. I have some information which leads me to believe that the first Benicia Chamber of Commerce was formed in Benicia during World War I. A picture of members who started the first membership drive and names of the members I have also but there are no dates. Any information you can give me on this subject will be greatly appreciated.
