This is research done on the Port Costa Brickyard. The plant was in operation from 1905 to 1991. It was located at the South shore of the Carquinez Straits near Martinez. The plant mined shale for the production of aggregate. The plant closed in 1998. The 149 acre site was sold to the East Bay Regional Park District.Collection
