A small map of the City of Benicia dated October, 1857. It is on rag paper and shows the blocks comprising the plan for Benicia as of 1855. "Showing the water front(sic) granted to said city by an act of the Legislature approved May 3rd, 1855". This is written in the legend. Also written on the map is: "Filed with Senate Committee at _____________ Feb, 1868. signed L.B. Mizner Chairman." Also; "Filed with __________ in C______ Feb, 1868. John H. Moore".
The bottom of the map shows "surveyed & drawn by Em__ d'H_imu______ City Surveyor Oct 1857".
The back of the map it says "Plan of City at Benicia."Collection
