Description

Commemorative Medal - Good Conduct Red with white stripes cloth, 1-1/4" long x 1-1/2" wide; 1-1/4" round, brass medal on front: an eagle standing on a sword with slightly spread wings, and "Efficiency - Honor - Fidelity" around the edge; on back: "For Good Conduct", beneath a star is a banner engraved with the name: "Seymour Silverblatt". The Army Good Conduct Medal is awarded for exemplary behavior, efficiency and fidelity in active Federal Military service. It is awarded on a selective basis to each enlisted soldier who distinguishes himself from among his fellow soldiers by exemplary conduct, efficiency and fidelity throughout the specified period of continuos enlisted active Federal Military service. The immediate Commander must approve the award and the award must be announced in permanent orders.
