Commemorative Medal - The Army Achievement Medal
blue/green/white cloth 1-1/2" x 1-3/8"; eight sided brass medal;
front: snake at top, two flags, a suit of armor, a cannon and cannon balls in raised logo;
"1775" is at the bottom;
back: "For Military Achievement"; there is no name in the open space.
size of medal: 1/2" each side, 1-1/2" side to side and 1-1/2" top to bottom.
The Army Achievement Medal is awarded to any member of the Armed Forces of the United States or to any member of the Armed Forces of a friendly foreign nation, who while serving in any capacity with the Army in a non-combat area on or after 1 August 1981, distingished himself/herself by meritorious service or achievement of a lesser degree than required for award of the Army Commendation Medal. The Army Achievement Medal is not awarded to General Officers.Collection
