on the opening page is inscribed "Ruth Alexander 8/25/22" Mrs. Bell DeGraf was the editor of the San Francisco Chronicle's Cooking Information Page. Her column was syndicated in 50 Pacific Coast Newspapers; she was the Director of Domestic Science, California Prune and Apricot Growers Association; she was also an Instructor at U.S. Naval Reserves, New York City. For many years she was in charge of the Domestic Science Department of the Sperry Flour Company.
