glass plate negative from plate box identified as "box 11". Shows a man and woman sitting in the woods. The woman is reading a newspaper and is wearing a veil over her face. The man is watching the woman.
The woman in the photo can be seen reading a newspaper. At high magnification you can just make out a column heading "Hero of the Manila Fight". This probably refers to Admiral Dewey and either the Spanish American War or the Philippine Insurrection. If so, then that dates the photo to between 1898 and 1902.Collection
