Photo of the steamer Onisbo. Built by the California Transportation Company in 1900 on Wood Island near Rio Vista. Company founded by E Anderson. The ship is named after a small town near Sacramento.
This photo may have been taken around 06/18/1903 when the Onisbo collided with the British ship Castle Rock at anchor in Carquinez Straits. The pilot, William C Jarvis, was suspended for 6 months.
