These negatives were in an envelope marked "Arsenal" and with a note asking for a 5x7" enlargement at the rate of $.35 each for seven enlargements. There is also a stamp on the front from Frank J. Stumm Publisher Benicia, California. Frank Stumm was the jeweler who published a number of postcards of the region during the early 1900s. These may be negatives from John Molfino that were considered for publishing as postcards by Stumm.
This photo shows the old Customs House after it was moved from the waterfront next to the drug store on First Street. It was here for a time and then moved down the street and became a private residence. You can see two workmen inspecting the foundation after the move. You can also see te National Theater and Quinn's grocery store further up the street.Collection
