This is an article from the 1932 Benicia Herald-New Era. It describes the fire that destroyed the city block in Benicia containing the Gise Hotel (formerly the Palace Hotel). This was the largest fire in Benicia since the fire that burned the McKay tannery, 10 years earlier.
