Notebook (8-1/2" x 6-1/2") lined pages, hand-written by Sara Stevens Rankin about her parents who lived in Maine, her fahter's service in the Civil War, the move to Iowa and finally the settling in Beloit, Kansas where she grew up; there are many family stories and she added at the end:
"These stories anecdotes are as I remember them and have written down that my boys and girl may know what manner of ancestry they had. My brother promised me many times to fill in the places I have forgotten, but he delayed too long and only two other people know much of these things, Sada Cooke and my cousin Mary Baker."
