Painting of a mountain and trees with a stream and railroad tracks in the foreground. Donor did not know what mountain the painting shows but it looks like Mt Shasta. The artist is Henrietta Riddell-Fish who lived in Benicia at 265 West "K" st in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The painting has her signature (HR Fish) and the date in the lower right corner. Her husband, Franklin, was an amateur photographer. The museum has some of his glass plates which also seem to be of Mt Shasta.
On the back of the painting is written the address "827 20th St w pkg". Not sure what this means.
The painting seems to be in the original frame. It contains square nails and heavy corner brackets that are dated 1883/1885.Collection
