This is a photo of the Bank Exchange bar at 639 First Street in Benicia. It shows a man at the cigar stand in front. The man is identified as Barney Newman.
Harry Wassmann says this was in front of a saloon on First Street next to Molfino's barbershop. We have a photo from Harry showing Molfino's shop and next door is a saloon where 639 First street could be located.
Newspaper ads show a bar called the Bank Exchange in Vallejo (see below). Not sure which account matches this photo.Collection
