A photo of a woman sitting in a chair. The photo is on a card stock but has been cut down. Not sure if this was originally a cabinet card or not. The top of the card has been rounded as if to fit into an old style photo album.
There is a 5 cent stamp on the back with a picture of George Washington and the words "playing cards". A 5 cent stamp means that the photo originally sold for between 51 cents and 1 dollar. The revenue stamps were first placed on photos during the Civil War. Photo related stamps ceased in 1864 so playing card stamps were substituted until the law was changed in 1866. This stamp has been cancelled with the name "WMY K". This could be someone named William with a last name starting with "K".Collection
