This is a photograph of the Hastings mansion. It was the home of Daniel N. Hastings and his family. Daniel Hastings arrived in Benicia in 1850 and prospered as a butcher. He acquired more than 3,000 acres of land in the vicinity and served as a city councilman.
The mansion was located at West Second St. and Military West. It was adjacent to the service station that is now there.
This is an early photo of the mansion as it is still in fine shape.Collection
