This is a photo of the Benicia Cement Company.
Pacific Cement Works was established at the foot of West 8th street in the 1860's. "Benicia Cement" became the by-word for extremely hard, water durable, hydraulic cement and was used throughout the Bay area for construction of dikes, seawalls and bridges.Collection
