This is a small cabinet card of the Benicia Arsenal barracks area in 1897. It is very faded but shows a group of soldiers in formation. The line of soldiers begins with a soldier wearing sergant's stripes. There is someone reviewing the soldiers at the far end of the formation. Some of the soldiers are talking to each other and not at attention. They are in front of a building which may be the Benicia Barracks. The back has written on it that Warren, Will, Ike and John Barnes are in the photo. The photo shows I assume a previous owner as Mrs. Gjhy Doris West of Bakersfield, Calif.
There is also an 8" x 10" copy of the photo made by the Army in 1962.Collection
