This is a photograph of Olga Bandel at age 23. She was one of the translators of her father's book; "Frontier Life in the Army 1854-1861". The book was published in 1932 and Olga died 09/27/1933. The book is based on her father's diary and correspondence as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. In tells of his crossing the plains and arriving at the Benicia Barracks in the 1850s.
Olga's father was Eugene Bandel (1836-1889) and mother Emilie Prall (1846-1914). She had siblings Clara (1874) and Theodore (1875).Collection
