This is a real photo postcard of two children sitting on the front steps with a dog. The back says they are Ella and Bert Higgins at home at 622 East 2nd St. Benicia. The postcard is a divided back postcard (post 1907). It is printed on AZO paper with the four arrows in the corners of the stamp box pointing up (1904-1918). This card was probably printed between 1907 and 1918.
There was a Higgins family living in Benicia about this time. The parents were Edward (1882-?) and Mary (1882 -) (her married name was Leary and she was a sister of Harry Wassmann's mother. Two of their children were Bertrend (1912 - ) and Ellen (1915- ) per the 1920 census. In that census their home is shown as 608 E 2nd.Collection
