Color tinted photograph (possibly a postcard) framed and matted in black under glass. (Removed from frame 12/11/2012. RRK) It is a picture of the Rail Road Ferry Boat Solano either arriving or departing the dock. An engine and several cars are on the ferry along with a number of people. The caption at the top of the card reads: "1548 - Southern Pacific Co.'s Ferryboat "Solano", Benicia, California." On the bottom of the boat is written "Solano of San Francisco".
The back has a message from someone to Howard Sawyor at 1616 Mouabuock Chicago, Il. The side in back says it was made by Edw ? Mitchell.Collection
