B/W (slightly tinted) photograph (possibly a postcard) framed in black under glass. (Removed from frame 12/11/2012. RRK) It is a picture of the Benicia Public School building which housed the elementary as well as the high school students. There is a flag on the poll on the upper balcony and a picket fence in front. On the lower edge of the card is printed: " No. 303 Public School, Benicia, Calif. hand-colored." Also printed in the lower left on the picture is Frank J. Stumm, Publ. Benicia Calif." Written in pencil is the date 1909.
The back of the card is dated May, 1909 with a May 11, 1909 postmark from Benicia.
It is addressed to Miss Miss I J Brinsons at 107 Sertes Ave Oakland, CA. The message says:
Dear Isabelle,
This has been a windy place all day today. Tonight it is very cold and windy.See You Gus.Collection
