The photo shows several women and two children and a man and the skipper in a sailboat. One woman is steering the boat and the note on the bottom is "Do you know the skipper?". The message on the back begins "All is quiet on the Potomac." In the photo the woman second from the left has a strong resembalance to Eleanor Roosevelt.
The rest of the message says:
Will write tomorrow sure - very busy. Took Miss Birden (Clara) and another who used to be at the hospital to dinner tonight. She does not seem half bad now. They are here on unpaid cases. Did you hear of Papa's wedding?
